I like to pleasure read this book. I have not tried the CD-ROM; but if it does not work using Mac OSX I can use it using Debian (Linux). It is entertaining full of all sorts of useful and interesting information as well as references to pursue. I have an older version of the Merck Index; but I wanted the new version too. As I look through the new Merck Index it appears similar to the previous editions; same layout. I will try to give a further update as I use it more.

There is no reason to buy a brand new edition of this manual, because the older editions have similar information, possibly different with regards to minor details of the measurements (.5 degrees melting point, etc). If you are looking for a Merck Index, buy used.

The seller was excellent. I received the product many days sooner than anticpated, which was great because it was for a Christmas present and I got it in time. The boopk arrived in excellent condition, we are very pleased with both the product and the seller.

I am thrifty buyer and this book was worth the extra I payed for it. All who buy this book will get what they pay for and more. Have heard some good things about this book and have not been disappointed. =o) Thanks for reading. All Merck books have been awesome resources for me. I am in pre-med and am taking pharmacology next semester and I know that this book will make things loads easier; also it is not as expensive as any CRC Handbook. PS> buy the book. it is awesome.

Ordered the book since 30th October 2009 and till today (1st December 2009) I have not received it in Singapore. The shipment provided is very slow. Hopefully, it would take until Chinese New Year (Feb 2010) to reach my house. :-(
